Cyber Requirements & Compliance Specialist
We are seeking a Cyber Requirements & Compliance Specialist to support the development, implementation and assurance of cybersecurity requirements across technology, information and business environments. In this role, you will translate regulatory obligations, industry standards, contractual commitments and internal policies into clear, practical security requirements. You will work closely with technical teams, project managers, risk specialists and business stakeholders to ensure that cybersecurity considerations are embedded throughout the design, delivery and operational lifecycle of systems and services.
Key responsibilities will include maintaining security and compliance requirements, conducting control and gap assessments, and supporting the review of new or amended legislation, standards and contractual obligations. You will contribute to risk assessments, security reviews, audit preparation and remediation planning, ensuring that actions are clearly documented, prioritised and tracked through to completion. The role will also involve reviewing project and solution documentation, advising on appropriate security controls, producing compliance evidence, and preparing reports for governance forums and senior stakeholders. You may also support the development of policies, procedures, standards and guidance, as well as improvements to governance, risk and compliance processes.
The successful candidate will have experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, technology risk, compliance or a related discipline, with a sound understanding of security frameworks and control principles. Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls or equivalent regulatory and industry requirements is desirable. You should be confident analysing complex information, identifying control weaknesses and communicating practical recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, are advantageous. The role requires integrity, sound judgement and a proactive approach to collaboration and continuous improvement.
