We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Manager for a seven-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident privacy professional to provide practical advice, strengthen data protection governance and support compliance across a complex organisation. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, helping to ensure that personal data is handled lawfully, securely and transparently.

Key responsibilities will include managing and maintaining records of processing activities, reviewing and updating privacy notices, policies, procedures and guidance, and providing advice on data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and data-sharing arrangements. You will monitor compliance with relevant data protection legislation, coordinate responses to data subject rights requests and personal data breaches, and support the investigation, documentation and resolution of incidents. The role will also involve delivering awareness training, promoting good privacy practice and preparing reports, risk updates and recommendations for senior stakeholders and governance forums.

Applicants should have substantial experience in a data protection, privacy or information governance role, with a strong working knowledge of the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and related regulatory expectations. Experience managing data subject requests, breach investigations, DPIAs and policy development is essential, along with the ability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into clear, practical advice. A relevant professional qualification, such as CIPP/E, CIPM or an equivalent privacy certification, would be advantageous. You will be organised, analytical and confident managing competing priorities, with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, exercising sound judgement and delivering high-quality work within a fixed-term timeframe.
