We are seeking a Detection & Response Security Engineer, Threat Intelligence, to strengthen cyber defence capabilities across a complex and evolving technology environment. In this role, you will monitor the threat landscape, identify emerging risks, and translate intelligence into practical detection and response improvements. You will work closely with security operations, incident response, engineering, and risk teams to investigate suspicious activity, improve visibility, and help protect critical systems, data, and users.

Key responsibilities will include collecting, analysing, and validating threat intelligence from open, commercial, and internal sources; developing and maintaining indicators of compromise, detection rules, and threat-hunting hypotheses; and mapping adversary behaviours to recognised frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK. You will support the investigation and triage of security alerts, contribute to incident response activities, and produce clear intelligence reports and briefings for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will also evaluate detection coverage, identify gaps, recommend improvements, and help automate repetitive analysis and response processes using relevant security tooling and scripting.

The successful candidate will have experience in cyber threat intelligence, security monitoring, threat hunting, incident response, or a closely related discipline. You should be comfortable analysing logs, network traffic, malware behaviours, and attacker techniques, with practical knowledge of SIEM, EDR, SOAR, vulnerability management, and intelligence platforms. Strong investigative, analytical, and communication skills are essential, together with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment. Experience with Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages, as well as familiarity with cloud security and digital forensics, would be advantageous. Relevant professional certifications or equivalent practical experience are welcome. This is an opportunity to shape proactive defence strategies while developing trusted partnerships across the wider technology and security community.
