You will help manage user accounts, permissions, multi-factor authentication and secure configuration standards, while contributing to incident response, investigation and recovery activities. The role will also involve maintaining accurate technical documentation, preparing reports, supporting audits and delivering guidance or training to colleagues on safe and effective use of IT systems. You may also assist with security projects, infrastructure upgrades, system testing and the evaluation of new technologies.

Applicants should have substantial experience in an IT support, infrastructure or cyber security environment, with a strong understanding of networking, operating systems, endpoint security, identity and access management, data protection and common cyber threats. Relevant professional qualifications in IT, networking or cyber security are desirable, alongside practical experience with security monitoring, vulnerability management, Microsoft-based environments and service management processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential, as is the confidence to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support the protection of critical systems, applications, data and users across a complex technology environment. This role will monitor security events, investigate alerts and incidents, and help maintain effective controls against cyber threats. You will work closely with infrastructure, applications, service delivery and risk teams to identify vulnerabilities, assess potential impacts and coordinate appropriate responses. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a maturing security function while developing practical experience across monitoring, incident response and security assurance.

Key responsibilities include reviewing alerts from security monitoring platforms, analysing logs and network activity, triaging suspected incidents and documenting findings clearly. You will support incident response activities, including containment, eradication and recovery, and contribute to post-incident reviews and improvements. The role will also involve vulnerability management, tracking remediation actions, supporting security assessments, reviewing access and configuration controls, and helping to maintain policies, procedures and operational playbooks. You may assist with threat intelligence research, security awareness initiatives, audit requests and the preparation of regular risk and performance reports. Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential when explaining risks and recommending practical solutions.

Applicants should have experience in a cyber security, security operations, infrastructure or related technical role, together with a sound understanding of common threats, vulnerabilities and defensive practices. Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability scanning, identity and access management, firewalls, cloud security or network monitoring tools would be advantageous. You should be analytical, methodical and confident investigating issues under pressure, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Relevant professional certifications or qualifications are desirable, but demonstrable hands-on experience and a commitment to continuous learning will also be valued. A willingness to participate in an on-call or out-of-hours incident response rota may be required.
