We are seeking a Product Cybersecurity & Firmware Engineer to help design, develop and maintain secure embedded products throughout their lifecycle. You will work closely with firmware, hardware, software, systems and quality engineering teams to embed cybersecurity into product architecture, development processes and release activities. The role will involve translating security requirements into practical engineering solutions and supporting the delivery of robust, reliable and resilient connected products.

Key responsibilities include conducting threat modelling, risk assessments and security reviews for embedded systems and product features; defining and implementing secure firmware architecture, boot processes, update mechanisms, authentication, access controls and cryptographic functions; and identifying, investigating and resolving vulnerabilities across the product lifecycle. You will contribute to secure coding standards, design and code reviews, security testing, penetration testing and vulnerability remediation. The role will also involve preparing technical documentation, supporting security compliance activities, monitoring emerging threats and contributing to incident response and product security improvement programmes.

Applicants should have proven experience in embedded firmware or low-level software development, ideally using C or C++, together with a strong understanding of product cybersecurity principles. Experience with microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, embedded Linux, secure boot, firmware signing, encrypted communications and over-the-air updates would be highly beneficial. You should be comfortable working with threat-modelling methodologies, vulnerability management practices, debugging tools and source-control systems. Knowledge of relevant security standards, regulatory requirements and secure development frameworks is desirable. Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to explain complex security risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A degree or equivalent experience in computer science, electronics, cybersecurity, software engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
