We are seeking a Security Systems Engineer to design, implement, maintain and improve integrated security systems across a complex operational environment. The role will support the availability, resilience and effectiveness of physical and electronic security technologies, including access control, CCTV, intruder detection, intercoms, alarm monitoring and related networked systems. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, specialist contractors and technical service providers to ensure systems meet operational, safety and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities include developing technical specifications, reviewing designs, coordinating installations and commissioning new or upgraded security solutions. You will investigate faults, lead system testing, manage preventative maintenance and provide timely technical support for incidents and service issues. The role will also involve maintaining accurate system documentation, asset registers, configuration records and operating procedures. You will contribute to risk assessments, audits, resilience planning and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring all work is completed in line with relevant legislation, industry standards, security policies and health and safety requirements.

Applicants should have proven experience engineering or supporting electronic security systems, with a strong understanding of access control, video surveillance, alarm technologies, structured cabling, IP networks and system integrations. Experience with security management platforms, project delivery, supplier management and technical documentation would be advantageous. You will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities and the confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with a range of stakeholders. Relevant technical qualifications or professional certifications are desirable, along with a commitment to confidentiality, customer service and the secure handling of sensitive information. This position may require occasional travel, out-of-hours support or participation in an on-call rota.
