SOC Architect
We are seeking an experienced SOC Architect to design, develop and continuously improve a modern Security Operations Centre capability. This role will define the technical architecture, operating model and security tooling required to detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats across a complex enterprise environment. You will work closely with security engineering, infrastructure, cloud, risk and governance teams to ensure that monitoring and response capabilities are resilient, scalable and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include developing the SOC technology roadmap; designing integrations between SIEM, SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management, threat intelligence and case management platforms; and establishing robust processes for alert triage, incident response, threat hunting and security reporting. You will assess current capabilities, identify gaps and recommend improvements that enhance detection quality, automation, operational efficiency and measurable risk reduction. The role will also contribute to security architecture standards, playbooks, logging strategies, data retention requirements and service-level objectives. You will provide technical leadership during platform implementations and migrations, manage relationships with technology suppliers, and support the development of operational procedures and knowledge-sharing programmes.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience designing or leading SOC, security monitoring or cyber defence environments, with a strong understanding of SIEM and SOAR architecture, cloud security, network security, endpoint protection and incident response. Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS Controls, as well as familiarity with threat modelling and MITRE ATT&CK, is highly desirable. You should be comfortable translating business and technical requirements into practical architecture decisions and communicating complex subjects to both technical and senior stakeholders. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, SABSA, GIAC or equivalent, would be advantageous. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities and influence delivery across a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
